About Matt
Hello tennis world, I am Matt Perry, bringing a different brand of tennis to you, along with our wonderful Love Tennis Academy coaching family.
As a Qualified Physical Education Teacher for over twenty five years, and former successful Head of Department for over a decade, my philosophy has always been about inspiring young people (and adults) to take up sport, and unlocking their brilliance to achieve and thrive in sport and life, along with helping us to learn more in the process.
I have former students that currently play professional football and basketball, including the Premier League and International football! Giving people a safe space to learn to play tennis is paramount, along with developing leadership skills within each and every one of them. Our coaches are all given the chance and encouraged to take LTA qualifications and courses from the Tennis Leaders Award up to whichever level they aspire to achieve.
As a junior player, I reached as high as No.5 in Great Britain, so I understand how it feels from a players' perspective, what it feels like to perform under pressure, and when my life allows for it, I occasionally represent the Cambs LTA Over 45s team too, so I can remind myself of this!
I am currently embarking on work with some of the most highly regarded Regional Performance Centres and coaches in England, along with Top 5 ranked GB players. All of this is brought back to our club, where all our players are supported to achieve their best.
About Our Coaches
Our coaching team consists of some of the most promising young people and adults in the local community.
George, our LTA Level 2 Coach, won Cambs LTA Rising Star Award 2024, and currently studies Maths at Worcester College, University of Oxford. Charlie, Kodai and Paige were all nominated for Cambs LTA Young Person of the Year 2025, with Kodai picking up the accolades. Aran and Manuela are in one of the brightest bands in Cambridgeshire, winning Band of the Year! We want our coaches to thrive in all aspects of their lives, as we know that this impacts on their personal development and coaching.

Valour – we believe that through tennis, we can equip our players and coaches to develop confidence and courage. Taking part in new and unfamiliar situations, including competitive experiences, allows everyone the opportunity to transfer these skills to other aspects of their life.
