“In October 2022 I signed up to a beginners tennis course through the City Council with Love Tennis.
I hadn’t played since school (& wasn’t good at it then!) but have always wanted to try. The course was coached by George - he was patient, encouraging and always made the sessions fun. At the end of the course I signed up to Thursday nights & have been playing ever since. I absolutely love it & am always disappointed if I have to miss a week. Matt, like George, is patient, encouraging, and the sessions are really varied and great fun. I’ve learnt a huge amount and hope I’m gradually improving (maybe?!) Everyone is friendly and very accepting of different ability levels! The fact that I show up even in freezing and rainy weather shows how much I enjoy it!!
Love Tennis has also recently organised a session for our local Down’s Syndrome group. Somehow they managed to accommodate a large age range and a variety of needs & engaged the children so well. My daughter (age 8) managed to make some progress and that evening told me “I love tennis!”.
